This includes medical benefits, accessing medical care through a primary care physician, legal assistance, basic needs (food, clothes, personal care products), workforce development, mental health care, substance use supports, birth certificate and identification assistance, transportation, housing, community support groups, community events, and more!
People can access all of this assistance through the
GFA Referral Portal.
The goals of the Genesee Faith Alliance are
- creating local faith-based community collaboration to most effectively help others.
- providing a referral management tool that will bring all county resources (mental health, substance abuse, and more) together in the most effective way possible for the best results.

When a person fills out this form in our GFA Portal, it will be automatically shared with all applicable resources in the county and surrounding areas. A holistic approach means to provide support that looks at the whole person, not just their mental health needs. The support should also consider their physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.
Each person will have a different experience of mental illness and a path to recovery that is influenced by their age, gender, culture, heritage, language, faith, sexual and gender identity, relationship status, life experience and beliefs.
